| Providing a forum and organization for citizens of unincorporated South Mobile County, Alabama |
South Mobile County is a beautiful and historical area with many unique qualities. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, it became clear there was a tremendous need to organize in order to protect our communities and to aid in the recovery process. There are other issues and events occurring that need to be addressed as a group to include the oil and gas industry's efforts to establish an industrial "hub" of operations as well as developers planning new construction. We must address these issues and have input on growth in our area to include zoning and planning, and preservation of our historical and cultural resources. 18 months after Hurricane Katrina, our communities continue to struggle for recovery with many issues and problems still before us. |

| We are all citizens who love our communities and our county but who realize that because we do not have "self rule", we must organize in order to ensure we have a "presence and voice" in community concerns. |
